Koulouris Alexandros

He holds a BSc degree in chemical engineering from the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki (Greece), MSc and PhD degrees from the Dept. of Chemical Engineering at MIT (Massachusetts Institute of Technology, Cambridge, USA).
His research interests are in the area of Process Systems Engineering (PSE) which applies a systems perspective and implements model-based methodologies and computer tools for designing, simulating, operating, optimizing and controlling chemical processes. The emphasis of his research work in applying PSE is in the food, biotech and pharmaceutical sectors. Besides his academic work, he has been involved in the design and development of commercial software tools for process design (SuperPro Designer) and scheduling of production facilities (SchedulePro) which are used by many industrial and academic institutions worldwide.
