The academic year begins on September 1st and ends on August 31th of the following calendar year. The educational work of each academic year is structured in two semesters, the winter and spring semesters. Each semester consists of 13 weeks of teaching. At the end of each semester there is a three-week examination period.
The academic calendar indicates the start and end dates:
- of the winter and spring semester courses,
- the examination periods of the winter and spring semesters and the September resit,
- Christmas and Easter holidays.
The academic calendar also describes the official holidays of each semester. The academic calendar is announced before the beginning of each academic year, following a decision of the Senate of the International Hellenic University.
